Flash Symbols

In flash they are three different types of symbols. Each one has a different use when building a website or a flash movie. The symbols are Graphics, Movieclips and Buttons.
Graphics
- A graphic symbol is usually used to make an animation. They are static images. In flash any type of text, drawings or photos can be converted to a graphic symbol. However once you make a graphic symbol, it cannot be clicked on. Graphic symbols only take up one frame in the time line.
Movieclips
-
Movieclips are used to make a flash animation. They are reusable also, and can be controlled by using actionscript. In actionscript you can edit anything for the movieclips. Movieclips have their own timeline and is seperate from the orginial timeline but have the same features.
Buttons
-Buttons have four frames in the timeline. The four frames allow you to create what happens once you click the button. Each of these frames designs the action of the button once it is created. These buttons can be used to make your own website. They respond to mouse clicks, key press, or other actions.

My First Client's Proposal

Our interview with our client Phantom Hive was very informative. We discussed how they wanted us to build their websites and their expectations. Our clients website would be about candy and toys and to sell them Together we came up with ideas on what the website would look like. Our client wanted us to make the website bright and colorful so it would attract the reader and keep its interest by providing information and the types of products. Our client wanted a part where the reader would be able to make their own candy. We learned a lot from Phantom Hive and we know what they want and how to do it.

Project 1 Doodle for Google

What are you trying to communicate with your logo?
- I'm trying to show the independence of the five countries in Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica). On September 15 it is the start of Hispanic Hertiage Month and not many people know about this month because it's not a big deal. In schools, they don't teach about famous Hispanics who have done postive things so I'm trying to show awareness. I used every Hispanic flags to symbolize unification and my pride for being Hispanic.

What are the tools that you used?
- The tools that I used were the text tool, Gaussian blur, eraser tool, marquee tool, text warp, bevel emboss, drop and inner shadow so that my text would pop out more. I used the Gaussian blur so that the flags would stand out more.

LB4 Banner

a. What were your initial goals for your banner?
- My
initial goals for my banner was to do something with Chris Brown because that's what I wanted to do my site on. I wanted to have the background as an image of his face and using the stroke I'd make the outer line pop out more. I also wanted to have text that said " I Love Chris Brown" or " Chris Brown's Number 1 Fans" because that what all his fans in common.Instead I changed my mind and used the Mets and Jose Reyes because I'm a big Met fan and I love Jose Reyes.

b.
What design concepts and principles did you incorporate into the page banner?
- The design concepts and principles that I incorporated to my page banner were the Mets team colors orange and blue. I used a wave effect for the background because I thought it would stand out more than the other effects that I used before. I used text because I didn't want my banner to just have pictures. I used a front picture of Jose Reyes and his jersey because my banner had to describe things about him.

c.How was each design concept intended to contribute to communicating the purpose of the page banner?
- The background color was to represent the team's colors blue and orange. The effect of the background was so that it would stand out against the text and the pictures. I added an outer glow around my text and made the outline a different color because I want my audience's attention to go to the text first so they know what they're looking at. My picture were supposed to show my audience who he was, what he did and how fans proudly show off his number.

d.Do you have new goals in mind for the page banner?
If so, what are they and why?
Yes, I plan to make my banner stand out more by playing around with different effects in Fireworks and also by adding shapes, more pictures , symbols that will describe Jose Reyes and the Mets more.

LB3 Kimberly Barrientos P3

What were your initial goals for the logo?
-My initial goals for my logo was to include some animation and shapes on it. I wanted my logo to describe my personality and what I like. For my logo I wanted the background to be green because it's my favorite color and purple because it stands out against the green. The I wanted to animate a heart because I thought it would catch my audience's attention and it would be more targeted to girls more than boys.

Does the logo you have match the initial goals? Why or why not?
-The logo does not match my initial goals because I didn't get to animate the shape that I wanted. In the program that we used I was unfamiliar with it and with the time limit I couldn't explore the different options in the program. Though I did get to use the colors I wanted, it wasn't what I pictured. My background color was to light and it didn't compliment the bright green that I used. Also, I thought it wouldn't hold my audience's attention for to long because it's too plain.
